Lascu MAGNETIC SUSCEPTIBILITY LOGGING FOR CORES
نویسنده
چکیده
The magnetic susceptibility of a natural or synthetic material is a measure of its ‘magnetizability’ in the presence of a small magnetic field. Once the applied field is removed, the magnetization induced in the analyzed material reverts to the initial magnetized state of the substance. In mathematical terms, volume magnetic susceptibility (κ) is defined as the ratio between induced magnetization per volume unit of measured sample (M), and applied magnetic field intensity (H):

Reconstruction of Sea Level Changes using Magnetic Susceptibility Variations in Southeastern Caspian Sea
Magnetic susceptibility is one of the most important tools for monitoring the sediment composition during environmental studies. In this research, in order to reconstruct the Caspian Sea level changes, magnetic susceptibility variations were used during the studies of 5 sedimentary cores (K1, K3, K5, K7, N1), collected from bottom sediments of Gorgan Bay. Samples were analyzed for grain size, t...
متن کاملRelationship between susceptibility induced field inhomogeneities, restricted diffusion, and relaxation in sedimentary rocks.
Low field relaxation and diffusion measurements have become essential tools to study the pore space of sedimentary rocks with important practical applications in the field of well logging and hydrocarbon extractions. Even at Larmor frequencies below 2 MHz, diffusion measurements are often affected noticeably by internal field inhomogeneities. These field inhomogeneities are induced by susceptib...

In this study, Sendust (Fe85Si9.6Al5.4) nanostructure alloy was prepared bymechanical alloying and was characterized by X-ray diffraction. In addition, the alloy’smorphology and its distribution particle size were investigated by scanning electronmicroscopy method. The alloyed powders were insulated with 4wt% of three differentinsulating materials including polyvinyl alc...
متن کاملNmr Petrophysical Predictions on Digitized Core Images
NMR is a popular logging technique used to estimate pore size information, formation permeability, wettability and irreducible water saturation. Quantitative interpretation of NMR data is based on a set of fundamental assumptions (e.g., pore isolation and fast diffusion). These assumptions establish the quantitative link between NMR response and petrophysical predictions. While there is a need ...
متن کاملNonlinear Model of Tape Wound Core Transformers
Recently, tape wound cores due to their excellent magnetic properties, are widely used in different types of transformers. Performance prediction of these transformers needs an accurate model with ability to determine flux distribution within the core and magnetic loss. Spiral structure of tape wound cores affects the flux distribution and always cause complication of analysis. In this paper, a...
